“Rag Bag” Collection
S6 leaders will be collecting donations of clothes for a “Rag Bag Collection” at Registration every morning until 7th March.
Please donate items such as:
Wearable Clothing
Paired Shoes
Handbags
Belts
We encourage as many pupils to make a donation as possible as the recycled clothes help to clothe people in Africa. In return for the donations made we receive money which goes in to the School Fund to help support the huge range of extra-curricular activity on offer within the school.
For more information on the Rag Bag Scheme please see below.
Thank you for all the help and support.
The Rag Bag Scheme
The ‘Rag Bag’ recycling scheme has been developed to provide regular fundraising for schools and nurseries in Scotland.
The scheme increases awareness about textile recycling and by increasing recycling rates we can help the environment by ensuring less material goes to landfill.
What Happens To Your Textiles
The textiles that you recycle through Rag Bag are sorted and graded at the UK’s largest textile recycling facility – Nathans Wastesavers Ltd.
Over 300 trained people are employed to sort and grade over 600 tonnes of material every week prior to export around the world.
