Headteacher Welcome Letter

Dear Parent/Carer,

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the Acting Head Teacher of Duncanrig Secondary School. I am proud to have been a member of the Senior Leadership Team, as a Depute Head Teacher, for the past four years and it is a privilege to lead as Acting Head Teacher; I am looking forward to working with young people and families in this role. There are a few things I wish to update you on at this point.

Timetable change

We intend to change timetable for our current S1 to S3 pupils on Monday the 9th of May. Young people will attend Registration on the morning of the 9th of May to collect their new timetable. Our current S4 and S5 will change timetable on their return from study leave. We have a few changes to lunches and morning entry doors starting on Wednesday 27th of April:

  • Current S1: Lunch remains 12.45pm but S1 will now move to the street area. No change to entry door in the morning.
  • Current S2: No changes.
  • Current S3: Lunch changes to 1.30pm and entry door in the morning will change to the back door.

SQA Examinations

We appreciate it has been a challenging few years for young people and families and we are very proud of how our young people have coped through difficult circumstances.  All young people in S4 to S6 have had the opportunity to attend an assembly in preparation for exams and have been issued the SQA ‘Your Exams 2022’ booklet for further guidance and support. Copies of this are also available at our school office.  Further information will be issued next week regrading Estimates. As the exam diet approaches, and Senior pupils go on study leave next week, I would like to thank you for your continued support and wish all of our young people every success in the SQA examinations.

Yours faithfully

Annette Alexander
